Fresh Information Surface About the Finding of the Reiner Couple's Bodies

New information has come to light concerning the tragic passing of renowned director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their residence property on Sunday.

The Discovery

As detailed in an account citing a family associate, a therapist scheduled for an session was the first to notice something was wrong after not being able to enter the home. This individual then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives nearby.

After gaining access to the home, Romy discovered her father's body. It is said she then left the home distraught, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Afterward, emergency responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Charges

The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, including the alleged use of a deadly weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now in custody and denied bail.

Correcting the Record

The anonymous source also disputed several earlier details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the property, she did not identify him as a suspect at that moment.

The source also disputed published claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "worried" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. Instead the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction includes reports of alleged "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a party held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the tragedy. Although the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they said that claims of a "heated argument" between the two were not correct.

Ongoing Inquiry Timeline

According to law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports suggested the condition of their bodies suggested they had been dead for some hours.

Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was set to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had a medical issue and would not appear until no sooner than Wednesday.
